"There is nothing in Scripture quite like this explosion of spiritual longing.ā - Kent Hughes
āGod did not design the Christian life to be lived looking backwards at our past but forwards towards our future hope. Christians too often serve as voluntary slaves to their past. As believers, our only sustained glance to the past should to the grace show us in the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ, in order to remember the hope that we have for his return and the joy we will experience when we are completely conformed to His image.ā - Matthew Harm

Going Deeper - Life Group/Cell Group Discussion Questions
Pastor Jake talked about several ways we are prone to get STUCK. Which of these do you notice most in your life?
In the application questions Pastor Jake encouraged us to reflect on times when weāre tempted to think weāve arrived and to stop running?
Pastor Jake shared that God has not given us grace to continue to carry our past pain and failures with us day after day. He has provided grace for us in the gospel to give those to him. If you could be so brave as to share what pain and failures you were convicted you need to release to God.
Pastor Jake shared that we are tempted to think that JOY comes from holding on to past successes. Profound JOY comes from āforgetting what lies behindā and running with Jesus in the present!
How have you ever considered what successes you may be hanging on to that keep you from running forward?
In what ways are we not even aware of our deep hunger for Jesus? How were you convicted of the ways Jesus wants to invite you into a deeper relationship with him?
What else stood out to you from Philippians 3:12-21?
What do you need prayer for?
